Description:
ConocoPhillips Canada is recruiting for an Environmental Operations student within the Environmental Operations team. This role allows the successful student to gain significant exposure to a variety of areas within Health, Safety, and Environment, and the opportunity to work on impactful projects focused on emissions and environmental reporting with exposure to land, water, waste, remediation, and reclamation systems, programs and projects. This position is based out of Calgary, with the opportunity to build hands-on experience on field trips and at our field site facilities.
This position is a 12-16 month term, starting May 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Complete ConocoPhillips on-boarding processes and safety training
- Review, standardize, and normalize large data sets for additional analysis, and interpretation to support environmental reporting exercises
- Support environmental monitoring initiatives
- Review and compare soil, water, and emissions data to relevant regulatory criteria to support project work
- Assist with the development of data management tools for environmental reporting
- Work on environmental management system components, support environmental compliance programs, and contribute to environmental improvement opportunities
- Assess issues of concern, conduct literature reviews, and generate briefings, reports, and presentations suitable for team meetings and at least one presentation to CPC leadership
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant degree
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
- Must be returning to study at a post-secondary institution following the work term
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions

- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry through summer or co-op experience
- Experience with ArcGIS
