We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of HSE Systems Advisor in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), HSE Business Unit based in Midland, TX.
Job Summary:
The HSE Systems Advisor is responsible for providing expert advice and support on IT projects within the HSE team. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing IT systems and solutions that enhance HSE performance and compliance. The advisor will work closely with HSE and IT stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HSE and IT teams to identify and prioritize technical projects that support HSE goals.
- Provide technical expertise in the design and implementation of IT systems, including data analytics, reporting tools, and information management systems.
- Ensure that IT solutions comply with HSE regulations and standards and support the organization’s risk management strategies.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems, including user guides, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular assessments of IT systems to identify areas for improvement and manage enhancements.
- Support the development and implementation of HSE data analytics processes and tools, such as Power BI and other reporting platforms.
- Provide training and support to HSE team members on the use of IT systems and tools.
- Monitor and report on the progress of IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and meet all specified user requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in IT and HSE to continuously improve the organization’s technical capabilities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Safety Engineering or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in HSE and/or IT related work.
- Experience working on large-scale IT projects and teams.
- Proven experience working across multiple operations, influencing various levels of both HSE and IT teams.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of IT systems and solutions, including data analytics, reporting tools, and information management systems.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, and experience in implementing IT solutions that support compliance.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, Power BI, and other data analytics tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in IT and HSE.
