Airswift is looking for an Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Technician to work on a 1-year contract with a major company in Sugar Land, TX.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for inspection, repair and all maintenance of company owned aircraft to ensure proper operation, adherence to inspection schedules, safety & airworthiness.
  • Possesses skills and knowledge required to evaluate & perform diagnosis, isolation & repairs of discrepancies for all aircraft systems including flight controls, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel systems, engines & auxiliary power unit, perform scheduled inspections & component removal & replacement with little or no supervision.
  • Proficient with installing, inspecting, testing, diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing avionics equipment including but not limited to digital electronics, radio and satellite communications, navigation, flight management systems, radar, enhanced vision system, autopilot, auto throttles, indicating and recording systems & engine FADEC systems.
  • Perform onboard diagnostics using a laptop or specialized test equipment, which interfaces with aircraft engines, electronic systems and the advanced cabin management and communications systems as required.
  • Perform pre-flight, post-flight, fueling, defueling, towing operations, participate with arrivals and departures as part of ground crew to include passenger escort, baggage handling, and onsite technical support for aircrew as needed.
  • Task are performed in accordance with manufacturers maintenance procedures and adhere to FAA standards and regulations specifically CFR title 14, Chapter I, subchapter C, part 43 including appendix A-F, subchapter D, part 65, subparts A & D and subchapter F, part 91 and the company aviation maintenance procedures manual.
  • Responsible for company aircraft to include the Computerized Maintenance Program (CAMP) and Flight operations system (FOS), airframe, engines & APU logbooks, while ensuring airworthiness as defined by reviewing FOS & CAMP entries for accuracy and completeness prior to release for flight, researching permanent records utilizing CAMP, complying with any applicable FAA airworthiness directives, manufacturer service & customer bulletins ensuring an overall emphasis on safety & quality assurance.
  • Will communicate effectively with the Director of maintenance during all phases of Aircraft maintenance regarding work being performed or previously accomplished. Maintains a safe work environment, performs & delivers quality work in all phases of the job scope, and will report any unsafe working conditions to the Director of maintenance.
  • Act as a designated inspector (RII), inspect and approve work completed by other MX team members as required per the company aviation maintenance procedures manual policies as well as inspect and approve any 3rd party approved vendors who have performed work on the aircraft. Will provide technical assistance and guidance in areas of expertise when requested.
  • Participate & comply with all corporate compliance training & attend OEM aviation technical training as required to maintain proficiency on the aircraft and all systems to include avionics.
  • Comply with all assigned collateral duties as assigned by the Director of maintenance.
  • Assist with maintaining shop and hangar tools and equipment as required.
  • Participate as an Operational Excellence (OE) element advisor or subject matter expert when and where applicable.
  • Assist Corporate aviation services (CAS) maintenance personnel with maintenance issues on the Gulfstream 650ER aircraft in SGR.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate
  • License without violation
  • Valid driver’s license and US Passport
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to integrate into a professional team environment.
  • Computer and iPad – Highly proficient with Apple iOS
  • Proficient with MS Windows 10, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams video conferencing
  • Working at heights using fall protection when required
  • Operating a scissor lift, Lektro tug, hydraulic mules, electrical power carts, and associated support equipment as required
  • Able to work multiple shifts as required by flight schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel required for training, out-of-service visits with aircraft, and other business functions.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience. (Looking for someone who is moldable.)
