Santos has a regional operating model with a strong local focus. The Company’s operating structure comprises three regional business units focused on enabling and executing corporate strategy. Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.
Based at our Brisbane office, this role is part of the COE model scheduler position for field support, and scope alignment for optimum resource and production availability.
*** Ad-hoc travel is expected.
Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS). Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Build and disseminate the schedules in line with business cadence/timelines.
- Achieve optimal serviceability of plant & equipment to ensure reliable operation in the most economical and cost-effective manner.
- Achieve optimal resource utilisation via loading to agreed values and geographical campaigns.
- Chair schedule review and close out meetings with stakeholders
- Engage with specialist technical support within internal teams, external teams, and contractors.
- Deliver continuous improvement and standardization opportunities across the onshore maintenance strategies.
- Management of schedule compliance, PM, CM, and backlog in line with OE framework
Role specific accountabilities include:
EHS
- Uphold and ensure compliance with EHS standards for performance and behavior (Santos Safety Lifesavers).
- Implement programs to achieve the requirements of the SMS.
- Manage EHS risk and promote risk awareness amongst employees. Steward processes to lower risk to as low as reasonably practical.
- Ensure EHS performance for the asset meets or exceeds statutory and company standards for facility integrity.
Leadership
- Coach and develop the team to optimise performance and commitment to Santos values and core KPI’s.
- Effective communication and interface management with internal and external parties.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to company standards and processes.
- Drives the schedule build process, ensuring quality schedules released with minimal rescheduled activities.
- Achieve optimal serviceability of plant & equipment to ensure reliable operation in the most economical and cost-effective manner.
- Achieve optimal resource utilisation via loading to agreed values and geographical campaigns.
- Review materials ordered for each schedule period with the material coordinator, ensuring availability on site at execution.
- Build and disseminate the schedules in line with business cadence/timelines.
- Drive the schedule review process, ensuring compliance maintained at a very high standard.
- Reschedule activities as required.
- Contractor engagement and support strategic co-ordination for best business outcomes.
- Embed scheduling processes and ensuring compliance is maintained at a very high standard.
- Driving safety critical compliance via early scheduling, communications with stakeholders and regularly reviewing compliance dates
- Management of PM, CM and schedule compliance
- Manage backlog and the implementation of reduction opportunities.
- Maintaining good working relations with stakeholders
- Perform all other reasonable duties as requested by the Scheduling Lead
We are seeking for professionals with the following skills and experience:
- Extensive gas process or production operations experience in plant or field
- SAP or alternative computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Prometheus or alternative scheduling software
- Advanced computer and database skills – proficiency in MS Excel software
- Capable in the use of other MS Office software Strong communication skills to encourage involvement.
- Self-motivated, high initiative and adaptability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Extrovert and enjoy meeting people.
- Ability to work independently and has the confident to meet up with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a multidiscipline team environment and take responsibility for a defined area.

Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant experience and training within directly relevant roles/industry. Trade Certificate Qualification – Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation is preferred.
