We have a current opportunity for a Buyer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Glasgow, Scotland.

Reports To: Procurement Manager
Role Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Buyer to join our client’s procurement team in Glasgow on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone with some experience in purchasing who is eager to grow their career in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing and purchasing goods and services to support our operations, ensuring that purchases are made cost-effectively and delivered on time. The Buyer will report directly to the Procurement Manager and work closely with other team members to support the company’s procurement needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Purchasing: Assist in identifying and selecting suppliers for materials, equipment, and services. Support the negotiation of prices and terms to ensure good value for the company.
Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Help maintain positive supplier relationships and resolve any basic issues that may arise.
Order Processing: Create and manage purchase orders. Track orders to ensure they are delivered on time and according to the required specifications.
Support Inventory Management: Collaborate with the logistics and warehouse teams to help manage inventory levels and ensure materials are available when needed.
Documentation: Ensure all procurement documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Assist in maintaining records of purchases, deliveries, and any supplier communications.
Compliance: Follow company procurement policies and procedures, and support compliance with health and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Procurement Manager and other team members to understand procurement needs and priorities. Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience: 2 years ++ (more is welcome) of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a technical, industrial, or oil and gas environment, but this is not essential.
Skills:
- Good communication and basic negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with procurement or ERP software is a plus.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
