What role you will play in our team

 

  • The Capital Engineer is responsible for safe and efficient execution of capital construction projects and programs at the Port Allen Lubes and Aviation Plants.  
  • Responsible to ensure that quality, timely and cost-effective engineering services are provided in a manner that achieves the plant’s goals and objectives with regard for safety of personnel and assets.  
  • Apply sound engineering experience, principles, and theories to the design of major facility installations and analysis and modifications of existing facilities.  
  • Contribute to the plant’s performance by providing specialized technical guidance and support to achieve optimum asset utilization.

What you will do

 

  • Develop, control, and execute projects and programs in the most effective manner to meet the objectives as identified by the Mechanical and Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities are in compliance with all existing safety, environmental and other regulatory requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Provide direct technical support and guidance to plant staff and personnel to enhance business performance through optimum asset utilization.
  • Identify and assist in the implementation of innovative technologies and systems to achieve and sustain a level of competitive advantage in asset utilization.
  • Ensure that the development, administration, and control of all contracts conform to ExxonMobil guidelines and good business practices.
  • Increase technical knowledge through formal and informal training and by benchmarking with other lube oil blending plant engineers.
  • Incumbent should act as a business owner, taking overall responsibility for the effectiveness of controls within their scope of responsibility.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications 

 

  • Engineering Degree 
  • Lube plant, maintenance, or project management related experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of LOBP operations (blending, packaging, warehousing, and shipping)
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and support team activities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

 

  • Lean manufacturing
  • Labor relations or supervision
