Job Description:
Our client, a leading mining company in West Africa, is seeking a skilled and certified CBM Supervisor. The role involves monitoring the condition of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation components to detect early signs of deterioration or faults, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of equipment. The CBM Supervisor will focus on real-time fault detection and prompt resolution to prevent downtime and mitigate safety risks. This position is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing costly disruptions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise collection and analysis of vibration, laser alignment, destructive testing, thickness testing, thermal imaging, ultrasound, and oil sampling data.
- Manage all PdM/CBM databases along with tracking and reporting on the asset health dashboard.
- CBM Inspection and Analysis reports compilation.
- Participate in failed equipment inspections and failure analysis (RCA, Fault tree, Weibull, 5why, fishbone, A3).
- Supervise all CBM inspections and ensure QA/QC compliance.
- Monitor safety observation and produce weekly safety observation reports.
- Training of Nationals on CBM techniques.
- Installation and commissioning of new condition monitoring technologies.
- Review and development of CBM schedules.
- Development of CBM SOPs.
- Research and development.
- Continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- 5 years previous experience in condition-based monitoring on mining or industrial plant equipment.
- 3 years previous Supervisory level experience.
- Well-versed in a range of computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experience in mentoring, training and coaching.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to apply cost effective recommendations.
- Previous expatriate experience in Africa preferred.
