Description:

The Cloud Solution Analyst role is responsible for collaborating with the business to deliver cloud products and solutions in service to the ConocoPhillips Canada organization. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud services available on MS Azure and Amazon Web Services.  This role collaborates with the Global ConocoPhillips Cloud Enablement Team to understand and utilize the sanctioned services available to the Business Unit and represent the Business Unit’s needs on the Enterprise roadmap and support model.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Manage Cloud Solutions: Leverage automated infrastructure to develop cloud solutions in AWS and Azure for business applications, encompassing provisioning, configuration, securing, and monitoring of cloud resources using Terraform. Maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations within the cloud environment.
  • Troubleshooting and Enhancement: Accountable to resolve issues in development, test, and production cloud solutions through effective troubleshooting and collaboration. Optimize service delivery of Cloud solutions to boost reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Automate tools to monitor the health and reliability of cloud solutions to support business process requirements. Develop a process to ensure that upgrades or other outages to the cloud infrastructure are effectively communicated to the owners of potentially affected solutions.
  • Local Collaboration and Support: Partner with product owner, product designer, solution designers to architect and implement applications using cloud resources. Provide support for the cloud infrastructure and products within the developed solutions. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with functional analytics and data science teams within the business unit to foster solution development and innovation.
  • Global Collaboration: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Global teams to ensure the Business Unit’s needs are met by the services provided by the central Cloud Enablement Team.
  • Security Management: Manage security and access to development and production environments, ensuring robust security is integrated into production solutions. Conduct Risk Assessments for new cloud-based solutions and be accountable for security audits. Understand and adhere to data security and privacy policies and procedures to safeguard data.
  • Governance and Compliance: Understand ConocoPhillips application governance and ensure compliance during solution development. Evaluate scripts and applications in the Development environment to ensure standards are met prior to promotion to Production. Ensure compliance with change management requirements.
  • Documentation: Generate and sustain solution documentation in ServiceNow that outlines infrastructure and interfaces connecting to other applications.
  • SPIRIT Values: Demonstrate and uphold SPIRIT values.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Information Technology experience
  • Azure (preferred) or AWS Associate Level Certification and 3+ years of experience developing solutions using Azure or AWS cloud services.
  • 3+ years in languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, SQL.
  • Proficient in cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and tasks individually and as a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.
  • Broad understanding of Azure and AWS Cloud products that can be used to enable solutions identified by the business, and the ability to do so
  • Strong collaborator with business, IT and Corporate staff and peers
  • The ability to prioritize and organize individual workload. Timely responsiveness, deliverables, and follow-up are all critical expectations.
  • Self-driven passion to continue to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related business field or technical field
  • Terraform Associate Certification
  • 3+ years of implementing end users web services and APIs
