Our business
Our Oil & Gas Operator client are recruiting for Commissioning & Start-Up Engineer to join their Great Yarmouth team.  The role will execute commissioning tasks and services and oversee the installation of systems, plants & equipment.

Key Responsibilities and background:

  • Be accountable for assigned commissioning activities for projects and modifications.
  • Develop integrated Commissioning & Start-Up schedule and align the schedule with the Construction Execution Plan and integrated into Project schedule.
  • Deliver the Commissioning & Start-Up plan, including CSU costs and plan.
  • Ensure that equipment works to its specification.
  • Creating and carrying out inspection & test procedures, handover and completion packages and commissioning procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain commission records of site observations, testing processes and checklists.
  • Develop, own, and track punch items and outstanding work.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate problems, and diagnose and repair faults.
  • Liaise with installation/project engineers.
  • Create an empowering and inspiring work culture with the commissioning team.
  • Attain customer satisfaction through adhering to owner guidelines with the entire project team
  • Key Interface between Construction, Operations, and the technical disciplines.
  • Make improvements to, and offering advice about, operational procedures.
  • Schedule and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Train maintenance and operations staff on the newly installed systems.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Experience of working in Oil & Gas projects.
  • Solid experience as commissioning engineer on previous projects.
  • Understanding of: Working with Electrical Equipment; Controlling Static Electricity Hazards; Working in Hazardous Atmospheres; Safety System Checks; Management of Change; Application of MOS/OOS
  • Understand and correctly use the Commissioning terminology, for example: ITRs, HCPs, Completions Management, WEFS, punch list, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple interfaces at the same time.
  • Experience with GoTechnology Completions Management Software.
  • Continuous Improvement mind-set with a desire to improve the process and make it more efficient, as well as an ability to problem solve and take ideas through to completion
  • Flexibility on work hours may be necessary.
  • Excellent engagement and collaboration skills.
