We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Construction Superintendent BOP Rundown – Corridor. The position will be based at site and is responsible to lead the monitoring and oversight of the EPC Contractor in field planning, coordination and execution activities within designated area of responsibility across all disciplines (piping an pipeline construction).
This is a contract role with initial duration of 36 months working on a residential basis with 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:

Key Accountabilities

  • Reports to Construction Head Corridors (EPC Site Execution Team).
  • Appraises the performance of the EPC Contractor in safety, quality, cost (as applicable) and schedule.
  • Prepares and provides routine verbal and written progress reports to the NFXP Onshore Project Construction Head Corridors.
  • Ensures that the EPC Contractor’s Team develops, implements and sustains its Safety and Quality program at site.
  • Assist the EPC Contractor in the coordination of activities between subcontractors and TRS with the operating facilities.  
  • Ensure   all   activities are undertaken in compliance with Company Safety, Health and Environment and Quality policies, regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is a condition of employment for expatriate employees.
  • Ensure all activities undertaken comply with anti – trust and competition laws and the Company firewall policies and procedures.
  • Provides safety leadership by example to the NFXP Onshore Project Team and the EPC Contractor Team, its sub-contractors and site vendors.
  • As delegated by the Construction Head Corridors, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the NFXP Onshore Project Site Safety program which includes the SHES Activity Schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring the EPC Contractor Team implements and sustains its obligations and responsibilities for SHES project deliverables.
  • NFXP Onshore Project EPC Team Construction representative for monitoring and coordinating site activities of the Pipeline Contractor Team and its subcontractor(s) in their area of responsibility. 
  • Reports on the construction activities, progress, areas of concern and mitigating actions. Leads appropriate weekly construction discipline review meetings.
  • Prepares for and participates in weekly construction review meetings.
  • Responsible for implementation of execution activities and ensures development, review, and approval (as required) of appropriate plans, procedures, and programs for safe and effective execution. This includes authorization of RLIC permits.
  • Provides accurate, timely and routine reports to the Head corridors Construction on project planning and execution activities.
  • Reviews and approves the Pipeline Contractor Team construction sequence plans, work plans, pre-task planning and method statements to ensure comprehensive safety and feasibility in their area of responsibility. 
  • Leads incident investigations with support from the SHES organization.
  • Ensures Pipeline Contractor Team construction activities are completed in accordance with NFXP Onshore Project procedures, regulations, specifications, standards, and permit to work procedures as applicable, including relevant RLIC procedures.
  • Participates in the review of subcontracts and ensures that adequate control and changes in work procedures are established.
  • Reviews and approves construction field changes and extra work requests as delegated by the Head Pipeline/Civil Construction.

Qualifications:

  • Recognized degree in engineering or construction management, or prior work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge level gained in formal degree.
  • Trade school or industry specific courses related to pipelines/piping construction are helpful, but more and varied experience can make up for lack of formal qualifications.
  • Technical background as a discipline engineer, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Construction Superintendent, Construction Manager with solid Project Execution experience.

Knowledge and/or Experience:

  • Minimum ten (15) years experience in project execution.
  • Experience in major Construction Projects (including brown-field work) with total capital expenditure >USD$1B
  • Recent experience (last 5 years) on Qatargas Projects and working in Ras Laffan Industrial City is an advantage.
