Contracts Advisor – Kingston upon Thames

On behalf of a major EPC company, WRS are looking for a Contracts Advisor to work in Kingston upon Thames on a contract basis. This will be a 12 month renewable contract, paying an hourly rate OUTSIDE IR35.

The role will be supporting a pipeline EPC project.

Job Duties:

  • Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including but not limited to: engineering, procurement, Construction,(EPC) transportation and installation, service contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements;
  • Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management and Procurement functions, collecting the inputs from the other functions, including Insurance, Tax and Finance;
  • Prepare Contract Summaries on tender/project specific basis;
  • Advise Company and Corporate Management on the main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions;
  • Participate in meetings (with internal clients, external clients, partners and subcontractors), negotiating, taking notes and preparing summaries and/or Minutes of Meeting;
  • Negotiate the contractual instruments with the counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies;
  • Support the Project Management teams in the determination of claims and contract management strategies , in the preparation and evaluation of variation order requests, and in the drafting of key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors and/or other interfacing third parties 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience on similar projects
  • Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administrating project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential
  • Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening and influencing
  • Right to work in the UK
