Overview

We are seeking for Control Systems and Instrumentation Engineer to work under North Ghawar Gas Producing Department (NGGPD). The candidate is expected to work within NGGPD control system and instrumentation group.

The engineer will need to work with plant networks and systems security group, plant automation groups, process engineers, operation engineers, maintenance engineers, contract engineers and other disciplines as deemed necessary to enhance and resolve process control and instrumentation activities within the organization. Additionally, the engineer is expected to participate in the organization and company initiatives including safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development and other programs as required.

NGGPD main function is to produce gas in a safe and reliable manner utilizing the latest technologies and motivated workforce.  Control systems and instrumentation plays a major role for NGGPD to safely run its facilities and meet its oil and gas production targets and other operational requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be expected to be able to perform the following at least, the responsibilities may vary depending upon business goals:

Provide control system and instrumentation related technical and engineering support to NGGPD in the organization’s efforts to safely and reliably operate its Five Gas Compression Plants, Four Gas Gathering Manifolds and associated production remote headers and gas wells along with intelligent field devices.

Provide technical and engineering support to NGGPD in the organization’s efforts to safely and reliably operate its facilities.

Enhance and resolve process control and instrumentation activities within the organization.

Design (Plan), Commission (Test), Configure, Enhance and resolve issues with process control and instrumentation within the organization.

Support NGGPD in ensuring the security of control systems and instrumentation and in process upsets’ investigations by extracting and analyzing the relevant process data form the various control systems.

Participate in the organization and company initiatives and studies including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Study, RCA Analysis safety programs, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, self-development and other programs as required.

Work with various vendors as needed to install/implement and/or pilot new technologies for the organization for plant control and automation systems and instrumentation.

Develop functional and design specifications for control systems (HW and SW) and instrumentation.

Review and validate vendor design documentation at all stages, including attending FAT, SAT , Commissioning and PAT activities as required.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you should hold a bachelor’s or preferably master’s degree in related engineering discipline to control systems and instrumentations (i.e., Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent) from a recognized and approved program.

Minimum of 10 years related experience in control systems and instrumentation. Recent experience with Gas Turbines Compressor Control is added advantage.

NCEES PE (Practice of Engineering), ISA CAP (Certified Automation Professional), TUV/EXIDA FSE (Functional Safety Engineering) are preferred and will be a priority in selection criteria. At least one certification is mandatory.

Must have good working experience with Honeywell DCS and Honeywell ESD. Experience with Yokogawa Fast/Tools SCADA and Yokogawa ESD/RTU, Emerson Deltav SIS, Schneider Triconex/Trident and Siemens Simatic S7 Systems, (Bentley Nevada) VMS, process analyzers and flow meters is also an added advantage.

Must have experience plant instrumentation sizing and control design (pressure, temperature, level, flow etc).

Must have knowledge of instrumentation and control system design, project handling, studies, and troubleshooting and plant trip investigation.

It will be privilege to have knowledge of control system security and control system network.

Should have the understanding of communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, SPA, RP570, ANSI and General Process Automation Protocols.  Industrial communication and wireless technology knowledge is an advantage as well.
