Job Summary 

  • Position is based in Luanda – Republic of Angola 
  • You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s activities locally, including ensuring high standards of health security and safety, compliance, supporting projects execution, business development, prospect identification and pursuit, and financial / cash management performance. 
  • You will report directly to the GPC East – AFMED VP and work closely with other senior internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build and manage a high-performing local team by creating and maintaining a cohesive and motivated workforce that can drive business success. 
  • Ensure high quality support locally to project execution with particular attention to in country logistic and operational requirements. 
  • Drive a culture of excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, and foster a safe, healthy, and ethical work environment for all employees and stakeholders. 
  • Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including existing and potential clients, partners, suppliers, and local authority representatives 
  • Represent the company in external forums and events; promote the company’s brand and reputation in the market. 
  • Identify and lead locally the pursuit of new opportunities and market expansion. 
  • Work with the functions to build and manage an efficient team of professionals to support project operations, ensuring that they have the skills and resources to deliver high-quality services and solutions. 
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of the country, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and controlling costs and risks. 
  • Ensure that studies, tenders and projects are executed in accordance with company’s standards, policies, and procedures, and that they meet or exceed client expectations. 
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with the company’s vision and values and support the long-term growth and profitability of the company. 

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards, with a commitment to the company’s vision, values, and code of conduct. 
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the offshore energy industry, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role. 
  • A degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex initiative and/or projects, operations, and teams in a very dynamic and competitive environment. 
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and execute plans and initiatives that create value and competitive advantage for the company. 
  • Fluency in English and/or Portuguese and willingness to travel as required.
