Our Global Business Center (GBC) in Buenos Aires was established in 2004 and our diverse and multinational workforce of more than 2800 colleagues have been powering ExxonMobil’s global businesses ever since. We are proud to be part of an inclusive, safe, and vibrant work environment.
The IT department is seeking new candidates to its dynamic team. The department provides support worldwide to the Organizations all along the value chain from exploration thru site development to production.
What role you will play in our team
- The External Identity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting integrations between external customers and our systems
- As a Data Engineer you will be instrumental in driving our data-driven initiatives. Your responsibilities will include designing, maintaining, and optimizing ETL/ELT processes to facilitate seamless data transfer between production field data / third party sources and corporate repositories. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and global users to troubleshoot data flows, resolve data errors, and fulfill data requests. Additionally, you will support a data platform utilizing advanced tools to handle large data volumes, including streaming data processes.
- Our office is in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires and you will interact with Data engineers, BI developers, and users from all around the world.
What you will do
- Designing, maintaining, and implementing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes within the corporate network and from external providers.
- Leveraging cutting-edge tools to manipulate large data volumes, including streaming data processes.
- Providing support for a data platform handling structured, unstructured, raw, and processed data.
- Developing business intelligence dashboards and reports that visualize large data sets according to customer requirements / needs.
- Interface with various customers at production fields to troubleshoot communications, application issues and integrations to tools and its related data
About you
- Bachelor’s degree or close to graduating in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computing Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or similar.
- Advanced English skills, verbal and written communication
- Proven experience with programming languages specific to Data Engineering and Business Intelligence, such as Python and SQL.
- Proficiency with ETL tools, demonstrating the ability to efficiently manage data workflows.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, including design, query optimization, and data manipulation.
- Ability to develop and deliver Business Intelligence reports that provide actionable insights and meet the strategic needs of the business.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards continuous professional development and learning.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with any major cloud vendor.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Explorer and Azure Data Factory, is particularly valuable.
- Knowledge of any Business Intelligence reporting tool (e.g., SpotFire, PowerBI, Tableau) is beneficial.
- Working experience in an Agile organization.
