The position

In the United States, Equinor is one of the largest offshore wind developers, with a lease area off the coast of New York, split between Empire Wind 1 and Empire Wind 2 projects, and one off the coast of California, Atlas Wind. Equinor is also developing an offshore wind staging port in New York at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT).

The Deputy Project Manager Operational Readiness will report directly to the Leader of PFO Americas and work closely with the project teams, as well as various internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting position which combines the opportunity to shape the strategic operational direction for Equinor’s offshore wind development in the US and define sector-leading performance in a fast-paced developing industry. The successful candidate will possess the expertise to drive operational activities towards a more future-oriented context taking advantage of digitalization and robotics to improve safety and profitability. By joining our team in Renewables you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure operational readiness prior to start of commercial operations for our US offshore wind projects.
  • Ensure all operational requirements are captured and addressed throughout the project development phase to handover to operations.
  • Support OPEX estimation and optimisation to the project.
  • Manage operations related project risks, budgets and schedules.
  • Optimize the total Business case, in respect of health & safety, ethics, execution strategy and value creation.
  • Foster a good, professional and cooperative working environment across subprojects, site locations and cultural differences.

You

  • 7+ years experience working with operational projects/teams, including internal and external project interfaces within power generation / utilities
  • Proven experience within the wind industry
  • Experience in management of operational contracts and Contractor site activities
  • Knowledge of US regulatory bodies and frameworks in relation to project development and operations
  • Experience leading safety improvement initiatives
  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
