Position: Drilling Engineer (Consultant position)
Location: Stavanger (maybe also Oslo)
Contract: 1 year renewable
Office position: 37.5 hours per week

Objective of the role

  • Main focal point for operational planning and engineering during execution
  • Write digital RAPs and follow up well operations on day-to-day basis
  • Establish strong collaboration with ExpRes, D&W Engineering team and Alliance partners.
  • Focus on safe and efficient operations. Challenge waste in operations and optimize where possible

Responsibilities and work tasks:

  • Perform drilling engineering services in the well project in order to accomplish the established objectives and plans
  • Write digital Rig Action Plans, collaborate with Lead D&W engineer and vendors. Hold RAP meetings
  • Own the lessons learned process and facilitate learnings between teams and assets
  • Make sure that risk evaluation/analysis is properly used in relation to the well design decisions
  • Obtain experiences from other similar projects in the company or from industry
  • Keep updated regarding new equipment and new working techniques, and ascertain implementation of this when necessary for the accomplishment of cost efficient wells
  • Ensure a good communication with all groups in the project
  • Identify and handle dispensations and non-conformances if/when necessary
  • Drive performance and continuous improvement. Active NPT/ILT tracking

Qualification requirements

  • BSc/MSc in engineering/science. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in well planning/operations.

  • Experience from planning and execution of subsea MLT wells.
  • ERD experience
  • Good understanding of geology and subsea considerations
  • Experience with compass, stresscheck, wellcat (preferably), hydraulic simulations, fluids selection, kick calc, T&C, etc.
  • Experience with Semi Sub drilling rigs

Personal skills

  • Good interpersonal and team player skills.
  • Good communicator, proactively seeking advice from others and share own experiences with group.
  • Good knowledge of the English and preferably the Norwegian language
  • Open and transparent communication
