Job Overview:
The client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced E&I Engineer or Senior E&I Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, engineering, and execution of electrical and instrumentation systems for various oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed engineering design activities for electrical and instrumentation systems, including but not limited to specifications, calculations, layouts, and drawings.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design and implementation of E&I systems for both brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive engineering solutions that meet project objectives and client expectations.
- Participate in project planning, scope definition, and risk assessment activities to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct technical reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to identify potential issues and propose effective solutions.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including equipment datasheets, specifications, and procurement packages.
- Support procurement activities by providing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals for E&I equipment and materials.
- Perform site surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities as required to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address technical queries, resolve issues, and ensure project compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering within the oil & gas industry, preferably with experience in EPCI projects.
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and regulations related to electrical and instrumentation systems (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, NORSOK).
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ETAP, E3D, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant Instrumentation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Norwegian is advantageous.
- Offshore certification and previous North Sea experience are desirable but not mandatory.
