We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Electrical Engineer within our Pasadena PVC Plant located in Pasadena, TX.

 

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.
  • Implements the Electrical Distribution System Maintenance program in accordance with company guidelines, codes, and governmental regulations.
  • Develops, updates and tracks action plans pertaining to program tasks and overall electrical distribution system maintenance.
  • Provides on-going reporting of program activity status to plant management.
  • Arranges for contract services support for program related activities as required.
  • Reviews facility electrical maintenance activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to all specifications, codes and standards.
  • Performs formal and informal audits of the program elements to ensure compliance to all applicable codes and standards.
  • Maintains current knowledge of company/government rules and regulations.
  • Evaluates capital project scopes and vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
  • Assists with troubleshooting of plant electrical maintenance issues to ensure continued plant operability.
  • Conducts failure mode analyses to identify units posing excessive failure risks and supports proposed changes in design.
  • Assists in the training/coaching of hourly personnel in repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures Process Safety and Risk management objectives are practiced daily through participation in Management of Change, Process Hazards Analysis, Process Safety Hazard Hunter, and pre-startup safety review responsibilities.
  • Provides Chemical Commandment training and awareness to others as the opportunity arises.

Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years electrical engineering experience required.
  • Plant maintenance experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs.  Walking, bending, stooping is required.  Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.  Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NEC and other applicable codes relating to electrical engineering and high voltage systems desired.
  • Actual experience in design/maintenance of plant electrical systems desired.
