The post is based in Equatorial Guinea, offshore on the Serpentina on a 28/28 rotation
JOB TITLE: Electrical REP/SUPERVISOR
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working/supervisory position with specific responsibilities for ensuring that all maintenance activities within discipline are carried out Safely, Efficiently and in accordance with Maintenance Management Procedures.
- Reports directly to the Maintenance Supt in order to achieve all objectives as detailed below.
- Manage the daily work plans and performance of the Electrical maintenance technicians.
- Primary role as central point of contact for electrical issues/activities on the installation.
- Direct and prioritise electrical group activities/expectations.
- Ensure all electrical systems are installed and maintained, inclusive of instrumentation, within local Electricity at work regulations, current legislation and best practice.
- Ensure the generation and power distribution system is operated and isolated in accordance with local procedures and current legislation.
- Safeguard the availability and operational condition of the electrical equipment so that production targets can be achieved.
- Take responsibility for, and ownership of, maintenance activities within the discipline and as delegated by the Maintenance Superintendent.
- Monitor materials movements and manifests to ensure that priority work scopes are addressed in the correct order.
- Work with other discipline Lead Techs to ensure all PMs are aligned such that only one outage will be required encompassing all planned activities for the period.
- Drive discipline activity and progress – reporting to the Maintenance Supt on a daily basis.
- Planning tasks in maintenance management system / managing backlog / materials / and liaising with other departments and onshore.
- Ensure the daily logs and trip handovers are to a high standard and accurate with a clear and descriptive handover to oncoming REP.
- Deputise for the Maintenance Supt as required.
- Lead role in training of new personnel within the department and identify areas for Tech development and or training.
- S/D Focal points as tasked by Maintenance Supt.
- Project Focal point as required.
- Be involved in the 28 day planning process making sure that Vendor scopes are ready to commence on arrival (Equipment/Materials/Access/Permitry).
- ICP Focal point as tasked by the Maintenance Supt. Make sure verification testing is organised such that the resource and permitry is available at the agreed time.
- Attend onshore meetings as required. Lead Techs are encouraged to pursue issues/queries with onshore teams as they deem appropriate (onshore or offshore)
- Liaise with OIM / Prod, Maint and Marine/Cargo Superintendents / HSE / Safety over any electrical safety issues.
- Ensure all electrical supplies for life support and safety systems are maintained and available.
- Co-ordinate with operations personnel for start-up and shut-down of electrical equipment.
- Ensure safe switching and isolation practices are carried out in accordance with Installation electrical safety rules and practices.
- Complete routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and installation of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Carry out a planned maintenance programme, meeting statutory, OEM and Vendor requirements, ensuring that all work is recorded accurately.
- Ensure work carried out by 3rd party personnel conforms to statutory regulations and company standards.
- Actively support and liaise with all residential / non-residential contractors / vendors acting as central point of contact.
- Ensure all documentation and records are kept current and available.
- Ensure all electrical equipment located in hazardous areas have correct ‘ex’ rating for the correct hazardous zone and installed and maintained in accordance with current legislation.
- To ensure that spares are ordered in line with the MMS schedule, including critical spares requirements and stock levels for electrical consumables are maintained.
- Ensure all third party equipment complies with current legislation and company standards and is recorded as having been inspected / tested.
- All portable electrical equipment to be registered and PAT tested on an annual basis.
- Participate in Shutdown Planning.
- In conjunction with other electrical personnel review any proposed modifications / work packs prior to implementation and feedback as appropriate.
- Ensure planned activities are in line with budget plans.
- Liaise with Instrument and Electrical Advisor on all electrical matters.
- Ensure all electrical personnel competence / standards are achieved. Personnel’s portfolios shall be maintained current and valid, retained on the installation and made available to assessors, Petrofac auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure continuous development and training of electrical technicians.
- Carry out electrical technician performance reviews.
- Carry out authorisations as required on Electrical & Instrument, Telecoms, Construction and Vendor personnel.•
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Understand and comply with the installations safety case, statutory requirements and safe systems of work.
- Ensure contractors and vendors comply with Installation safe systems of work and current legislation.
- Emergency Response
- Perform in an emergency role as defined by the Company Emergency Response Procedure Manual and Station Bill
- OND / ONC/ City and Guilds / NVQ Level 3 – Electrical Engineering
- NVQ Level 3 Management preferable.
- Experience in maintenance support activities, preferably with experience of multi-skilling
- HV Switching
- EX hazardous areas
- Complete Competency for role. The portfolio shall be maintained current and valid, retained on the installation and made available to assessors, Petrofac auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to share information / knowledge with other personnel
- Electricity at Work Act
- UPS Operation/maintenance
- Electrical Protection theory
- First Aid Treatment for Electric-shock and Resuscitation
- High standard for reporting / documentation.
- Capable computer skill require to carry out this role
- Lead tech position only to be obtained by a qualified RPE.
