Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Environmental Advisor, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Provide day to day environmental support and advice to the UK Operations
* Manage and maintain environmental regulatory compliance processes and permits
* Monitor, track and report environmental performance
* Maintain awareness of existing and developing environmental legislation
* Represent the Company at industry and corporate environmental forums
* Assist in incident investigation as appropriate including the review of Incident Reports
* Participate in ORAs/HAZOPs/ENVIDs as required
* Facilitate the development of environmental goals and targets and implementing these
* via audit schedule
* Help deliver in-house environmental training
* Familiarise with the company policies, including the policies on HSE, Risk Management and Major Hazards;
*Familiarise with the work and be aware of all associated risks for People, the Environment, Assets and Reputation (PEAR);
* Report any incident, near miss, hazards (unsafe acts/situations) and improvement suggestions;
* Know their roles and responsibilities;
* Actively participate in any job or HSEQ training or instruction by or on behalf of the company;
* Use all provided means as intended and according to their purpose
Requirements
Essential
* Demonstrable experience with oil and gas environmental issues
* Familiar with the PETS system
* Offshore survival certification (or willingness to achieve this)
* Science degree (other backgrounds considered if supported with relevant experience)
Preferable
* Experience with atmospherics compliance; ETS & PPC
* Experience with EEMS
* A good working knowledge and experience in environmental related UK
legislation (on and offshore) and industry best practices
* Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor for an offshore operator
Beneficial
