About Houston
ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.
By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. It was designed to foster improved collaboration, creativity and innovation and enhance the company’s ability to attract, develop and retain the top talent in the industry.
The campus is located in Spring, Texas, on 385 wooded acres immediately to the west of Interstate Highway 45 (I-45), at the intersection of I-45 and the Hardy Toll Road, approximately 25 miles from the cultural vibrancy of downtown Houston.

What role you will play in our team
- Identify and solve technical challenges for business needs, design and develop lab scale experiments, analyze, and translate and transfer learnings to scaled up business applications, and realize technology value delivery from research on interfacial science and soft condensed matter.
- This role is based in Houston, Tx (or Clinton, NJ)
What you will do
- Leverage the expertise in interfacial science and soft condensed matter, work collaboratively across global, cross-disciplinary teams, and with third parties (academia, industry) to assess, accelerate pace of technology development and deployment.
- Serve as a key technical contact for identifying technology opportunities across ExxonMobil Businesses
- Effective development and/or utilization of Intellectual Property to meet technology deployment goals
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Ph. D in Physics or relevant engineering discipline is required.
- Expertise in using a combination of experimental/theoretical techniques to investigate, understand and manipulate interfacial phenomena including adsorption, adhesion, surface crystallization, wettability, friction, flow in porous media.
- Deep knowledge in soft condensed matter, physical behavior of liquids, colloids, foams, gels, and liquid crystals across length scales.
- Ability to function as key technical contact, design and conduct experiments, and work collaboratively in research setting, while also interacting with industry and academia to progress technology development objectives.
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn new adjacent skills relevant to ExxonMobil businesses to cater to multi-disciplinary technology needs.
