Job Description:

Our client, a Canadian-based mineral exploration company is seeking an Exploration Operations Manager who will be responsible for directing and leading the exploration team and contractors appointed for exploration work. The Exploration Operations Manager will spend most of his/her time in Noordoewer (Namibia) and will be responsible for overseeing the execution of the exploration program.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the implementation of the drill program in Namibia, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Supervise and mentor the existing geological team in Namibia, and communicate project progress, findings, and challenges to senior management and investors.
• Develop and implement quality standards and best practices for drilling and resource modelling, in line with major mining company expectations.
• Collaborate with the VP Exploration and Project Manager to align geological work with broader project objectives and operational requirements.
• Maintain a presence on-site in Noordoewer, Namibia (at least 50% of monthly work time) to ensure effective oversight of geological activities and the ongoing drill program.
• Coordinate the collection, analysis, and interpretation of geological data to inform decision-making and resource estimation.
• Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure that the geological team complies with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and quality assurance protocols.
• Report regularly on geological progress, drill results, and resource development to senior management.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• A degree in Geology (BSc Honors or higher)
• Experience in co ordinating large-scale drilling programs and resource modelling
• Minimum 10 years appropriate geological experience
• Familiarity with relevant software and geological systems
• High-level understanding of geological processes, drilling techniques, and resource estimation methods
• Work well in a team environment
• Possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
