Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.

About the Role

The Santos WA Offshore Assets team are looking to appoint a Financial Analyst – Projects, Exploration and Development located in our Perth Corporate Office.  Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst will provide financial support to the business in a timely and cost-effective manner.  

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Financial and management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and providing financial analysis.
  • Supporting Group with key year end and half year processes.
  • Working with stakeholders to produce and review monthly Asset Performance Reports to provide key stakeholders with analysis, insight and commentary in relation to business performance, including performance against targets and trends, key business drivers and performance metrics.
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing assistance to the Asset Teams and Financial Services with accounting and reporting matters.
  • Key point of contact with the Joint venture partners, including preparation of billings and cash calls and interpretation of the Joint Operating Agreement.

About you

  • The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary/degree qualifications in Accounting, Commence or similar.
  • Australian recognised CA, CPA or equivalent and/or working towards obtaining this certification.
  • Hands-on finance experience within the resources industry is preferred.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as SAP, is highly advantageous.
  • Good communication skills and a positive team player.
  • Confident in collaborating and engaging with stakeholders to deliver financial outcomes.  
  • Flexible, resilient, and agile in meeting changing business demands.
