Job Summary

Alaska Overview
ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.2 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2022. The company produced an average of 200 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest legacy conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Description
The Alaska Digital Technology (AKDT) Geology, Geophysics, and Reservoir Engineering (GGRE) & Wells Team Lead is accountable for building and maintaining relationships with Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, and Wells staff; ensuring required support services are delivered sustainably by providing oversight and direction to operational support team members.

The AKDT GGRE & Wells Team Lead is responsible for scoping and management of projects of varying scale, ensuring both the business and IT requirements are being addressed; facilitating communication across disciplines and ensuring that solutions are executed in line with the AK Digital Strategy Roadmap.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Oversight and workload management of GGRE & Wells support team
  • Liaison with business stakeholders on support requirements
  • Project management for Alaska GGRE & Wells approved initiatives
  • Partner with Corporate capability teams on global project execution
  • Collaborate with AK Shared Services team maintaining GGRE & Wells application portfolio forecast

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or related technical discipline or foreign equivalent
  • 7+ years’ experience in one or a combination of IT, Project Management or Technical positions

Preferred

  • 1+ years Business Analyst experience supporting Wells capability
  • 1+ years Project Management experience with proven ability to balance priorities, facilitate multiple efforts at the same time and deliver results through realistic planning; familiarity using Jira for project planning
  • Intermediate understanding of full Well Lifecycle from prospect generation through well abandonment & reclamation phases
  • Intermediate knowledge of key applications in one or more of the function portfolios: Wells: Landmark EDT Suite, WellView, etc; G&G: Petrel-Studio, Techlog, ESRI, Petrosys, etc; RE: Schlumberger RE Tool Suite
  • Intermediate knowledge of one or more of the function specific data, terminology & workflows: Wells: Well Design & Delivery, Permitting, Real-time Data, Sensor Data Flow, etc; G&G: Seismic Interpretation, Exploration vs. Development, Geo-steering, Petrophysics, etc; RE: Production & Forecasting, Reservoir Simulation, Reservoir Performance Analysis, etc
  • Able to work independently: makes most decisions independently informing supervisor of direction
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable, and standing up for what is right
  • Generates effective solutions based on available information; Works collaboratively across organizations and external stakeholders to ensure solution dependencies are identified and communicated
  • Influences business decisions which lead to delivery of value-add solutions that are in alignment with business capability requirements and IT standards
