Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.

 

About the Role

Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide this position leads the functional hub for GIS at Santos.  Core elements of the role include design and implementation of strategies to deliver:

• Effective governance processes and standards for management of GIS data.

• Common enterprise-wide integrated GIS technology solutions.

• Industry best practice GIS data management processes across Santos.

  

Key accountabilities include:  

  • Provide recommended standards and practices relating to GIS and spatial data to management for approval.
  • Lead the development of the GIS workforce and delivery governance process. 
  • Develop GIS communication and educational materials. 
  • Coordinate and communicate the status of GIS initiatives, capabilities, and opportunities to ensure all GIS stakeholders are adequately informed of key decisions, activities, and discussions.
  • Lead discussion and collaboration with GIS stakeholders across the business to identify inefficiencies, frame complex integration challenges, and identify and implement solutions. 
  • Engage and collaborate with external consultants, vendors, and industry leaders to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in GIS processes.

About You

You will have extensive industry experience in spatial systems, preferably from working in a large corporate environment.  You will have expertise in:  

  • Spatial systems, IS/Technology and project management.
  • Spatial data workflows and requirements.
  • Managing and collaborating with consultants and vendors.
  • Analysing complex problems, framing options, and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Change management and continuous improvement.

You will be degree qualified or have equivalent tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work/industry experience in spatial systems.  Your strategic view, collaborative nature and ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders will aid in your success in this role.
