Head – Subsurface Data Management

My client is looking for a talented candidate with a strong background supporting Upstream Data Management across a varied portfolio of international assets.

This position will lead be responsible for the team related to the Geoscience & Reservoir upstream data management in close relationship with the Subsurface Development and Exploration entities.

• Drive Innovation: Lead high-impact IT projects in the upstream domain, delivering cutting-edge technology aligned with the companies strategic goals.
• Optimize Operations: Manage teams and resources to ensure seamless operations, efficient support services, and cost-effective IT delivery.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to align IT solutions with business needs and drive successful change management.
• Ensure Compliance and Security: Oversee adherence to corporate policies, including Cyber Security standards, to maintain a secure and reliable environment.
• Stay Ahead of Trends: Research and adopt the latest technology innovations to keep systems up-to-date and aligned with global industry standards.

Additional Points

1. Examples of existing applications used include; Petrel, OpenWorks, Interactive Petrophysics, Hampson Russell, Eclipse, Intersect, Prosource
2. Majority of the applications supported are requiring high system resources such as high-performance computing infrastructure for complex computations and huge storage capacity for the massive data volumes to be stored and processed.
3. Main first line of support for end users on existing supporting infrastructure: HPC, VDIs, and Storage.

 Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering / Petroleum / Geoscience or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of directly related experience including minimum 5 years of supervisory management responsibilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subsurface technologies and trends.
• Experience in managing and executing multiple high value subsurface and Technical IT projects and services for energy organizations; knowledge and practice of tools and methodologies like PMI or PRINCE2
