The post is based offshore on the Irish Sea Pioneer on a 2/2 rotation with a fixed term of 12 months.

JOB TITLE: HSE Adviser

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation of the Company Safety & Environmental Management System and procedures for all installations and related operational activities

  • Supporting the client HSE function with oversight and monitoring of well services operations and related platform activities whilst in combined operations (as applicable).

  • Ensuring compliance and support in relation to the Petrofac and client Interface arrangements

  • Ensure compliance with the installation’s Safety Cases and other Installation Operator responsibilities, including HSE-related permits and consents.

  • Ensure legal compliance at all times from both a major accident hazard and occupational safety, health and environmental perspective, supporting the maintenance of the asset Risk Register and compliance management.

  • Undertaking and facilitating risk assessments for the asset and operations,

  • Participate in HSE assessment of Workpacks Job Cards, Risk Assessments and any related MoC processes.

  • Ensuring effective day-to-day implementation of Control of Work and permit-to-work procedures

  • Actively support, mentor and participate in worksite inspections and toolbox talks.

  • Conduct permit-to-work audits, reviews, active monitoring and incident investigations, tracking and implementation of actions

  • Ensuring HSE compliance in relation to activities on board the facility and supporting offshore Regulator & Verifier inspections where appropriate.

  • Promoting HSE awareness, the right behaviours, reinforcing personal responsibility and a proactive safety culture, including lifesaving rules and a 20-second Second Scan  

  • Ensure management, supervision and all personnel on site are coached and supported in their accountabilities and responsibilities for the implementation of HSE management systems and controls

  • Assist facility and support management team in maintaining effective emergency response procedures and delivery of the emergency drill schedule

  • Support implementation of the asset’s annual HSE Plan

  • Interaction with Petrofac and client HSE functional teams in support of all matters relating to HSE management and implementation within offshore operational activities for planning and execution of work.

  • Co-ordinate and actively participate in health, safety and environmental meetings offshore.

  • Support the development and implementation of HSE objectives and targets in line with the company’s HSE Strategy

  • Monitoring and preparation of reports and statistics of HSE management and performance for internal and external reporting

  • Share HSE Lessons Learned where appropriate.

 

Essential qualifications & skills:

  • Formal qualification in a health or safety-related discipline is essential

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree-level qualification is desirable

  • IOSH and / or IEMA membership is preferred.

  • Good interpersonal, communication and team skills.

  • Good working knowledge of UK HS&E legislation and experience

  • Demonstrating compliance with relevant legislation through audit and assurance

  • Demonstrated achievement in drafting and implementing HSE improvement objectives and plans.

  • Experience in regulatory liaison and hosting inspections from regulatory agencies, for example, HSE and EA.

  • Good level of computer literacy

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Ability to liaise with all levels within Petrofac and Client organisations and proven track record of developing relationships.

  • A reliable team player with a strong proactive nature

  • Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision.

  • Previous experience as an HSE Adviser within an Oil & Gas operational environment is preferred.

  • Inspection and audit experience of accredited (ISO 14001 and 45001) Safety & Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) is preferred.
