Description:

ConocoPhillips Canada is looking for an Audits and Field Assurance Coordinator to join our HSE team. Reporting directly to the H&S Supervisor, this position is responsible for coordinating and executing the Canadian HSE Audit Program, acting as Lead Auditor for all Canadian region audits, leading a multi-disciplinary audit team, and managing the Corrective Action Plan. The position will also facilitate & oversee any internal/external audits the Canadian BU may be subject to including but not limited to the following disciplines:

  • HSE Management System
  • Commercial & Insurance
  • Process Safety
  • Asset Integrity
  • Contractors
     

This role will work closely with the HSE MS Coordinator & Field H&S Directors to provide input into the development and continual improvement of ConocoPhillips’ HSE Management System. Based out of our Calgary office, periodic travel to ConocoPhillips Assets in Alberta & British Columbia will be required.  The successful candidate will interface at a variety of organizational levels and will be expected to be a strong networker who easily builds working relationships at all levels of the company.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the ConocoPhillips HSE Audit Program including:
    • Audit planning and preparation
    • Assurance activities
    • Updating of audit tools & materials
    • Acting as the Lead Auditor for internal audits
    • Communicating all findings to Leadership, oversee preparation of the Audit Report & Corrective Action Plan
    • Trending all audit findings and seek continuous improvement by analysis of the data
  • Facilitating the Corporate Audit Program including planning support for the audit, attending audits as a CPC representative, and supporting the creation of Audit Corrective Actions Plans and reporting on progress.
  • Ensuring the Canada Business Unit maintains an internal audit program that is legally compliant, corporately compliant, fit for purpose and provides value to the organization.
  • Overseeing the planning & management of 3rd party audits such as commercial and insurance audits.
  • Leading the preparation and development of the Annual HSE Management System Assessments and Reports.
  • Working closely with the operations execution organization and Field HSE team to ensure HSE programs are consistent applied.
  • Preparing the Annual HSE Management System Assessment.
  • Supporting other Health & Safety initiatives based on business needs & priorities.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of Health & Safety experience in Oil & Gas Industry
  • 3 years of experience in health & safety auditing within the oil and gas industry
  • Certification(s) as external auditor relative to audit standards (e.g. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Alberta Partnerships, COR program, etc.)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation in Alberta & British Columbia.
  • Extensive knowledge of HSE management systems and associated standards.
  • Sound understanding of field Oil & Gas Field Operations, equipment, and processes.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restriction
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of Health & Safety experience in Oil & Gas Industry
  • 5-7 years’ experience in leading, planning and executing Health & Safety, Process Safety, Contractors & other types of audits.
