  • Assist in defining, managing and implementing the Health, Safety, Environment strategy for the activities pertaining to the development phase of Block 30. Conducts routine reviews and assessments in matters of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Quality, pertaining the development phase of Block 30, ensuring that foreseeable HSEQ risks are identified assessed and effectible managed to ensure future safe operations which meet regulatory, legislative and company requirements.
  • Promote a company culture where HSEQ is an integrated part of the business.
  •  Monitor HSEQ performance throughout the project life cycle to ensure targets are met, secondly and as needed implement strategies to meet emerging challenges and/or needs.
  • Intervenes and escalates as appropriate to initiate corrective actions when HSEQ performance is not at desired levels.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the project specific HSE program and HSE activity plan
  • Lead HSEQ HAZID’s and other risk reviews as per project needs. Ensuring that HSEQ risk identification and management exercises are conducted during planning and execution of activities in the project.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of Project Risk Register and Corrective Action Tracking.
  • Perform HSEQ audits as required.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of applicable HSEQ requirements to monitor the adherence to applicable regulatory requirements specific to the scope of works; including required reporting. Ensuring all applicable project phase HSEQ regulatory requirements are identified, communicated and understood by the project team as well as aiding in monitoring compliance with identified requirements.
  • Keep abreast and conduct a variety of research functions associated with the HSEQ legal and other requirements with the intent of ensuring pertinence and/or applicability Monitor.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining emergency preparedness strategies and requirements.
  • Serve as HSEQ SME in the investigation of incidents and/or accidents.
  • Ensure that Previous HSEQ project lessons learnt are revised and implemented as applicable during the project life cycle. Ensure that all new HSEQ lessons learnt are captured for future projects.
  • Stop any unsafe operation/situation and report immediately to Site Management.

  • College Degree – B.S. Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Process Safety or equivalent HSEQ related field.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in HSEQ positions in the Oil and Gas Industry. Three of which must include offshore postings in E&P or O&G production facilities.
  • Offshore working experience is required.
  • HSEQ Management system knowledge (ISO 9k, 14k & 45k).
  • Deep understanding of operational activities and Hazard identification, assessment and control (risk management strategies).
  • Occupational health & hygiene assessments, monitoring and management strategies.
  • Emergency preparedness strategies and requirements (Developing, executing and assessing competence of ERT members).
  • Proficient knowledge of in-country and international HSEQ standards for O&G (Knowledge, interpretation and execution).
  • Sound understanding of Project Management principals.
  • Proficient in audit planning and execution.
  • Incident / Accident Investigation techniques.
  • Good time management skills and prioritization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in an agile environment, working in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Strong Conflict Resolution skills.
