Candidate Profile

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2 or 4-year degree in technical discipline or related field preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience in upstream Exploration and Production operations or related large-scale industry (construction, manufacturing, etc.). 
  • 5+ years of experience in the Health, Safety, Environmental and Regulatory field, or related activity.
  • Roles in public safety are recognized as industry experience including first responders such as fire and police.
  • Must have valid driver license
  • Recognized HSE Certifications are not required but are recognized. 
  • Familiar with the applicable laws and regulations as they apply to the HSE area. 
  • Must have effective written and public speaking communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and be proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Activities

  • Assist with managing Incident Tracker, Summaries, Graphs, and TRIRs (OSHA & TotalEnergies) for directors’ meetings and quarterly HSE Incident review meetings
  • Co-direct on-site Safety Stand-Downs and managed RCA meetings with affected companies when needed
  • Assist with managing ISNetworld database including Written Program Exemptions, Variances, Online Training, and custom reports
  • Participate in onboarding new contracting companies for MSA HSE requirements and expectations including Orientation 
  • Help facilitate and organize exercises and corrective actions with Local Emergency Response Team through FEMA ICS guidelines
  • Assist with internal audits with corrective actions and improvement plans
  • Investigate Motor Vehicle Accidents / On-Site Incidents / Thefts & Vandalism including TapRoot Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for high-risk incidents
  • Train defensive driving classes (Smith System), CPR-First Aid classes (Medic/HSI First Aid), Hot Work/Confined Space Qualified Individuals, and any other necessary training
  • Maintain gas monitor assignments and troubleshooting with repairs
  • Assist Operations in Business-Critical Exemptions for At-Risk Contractors
  • Coordinate with Ops and Contractors in obtaining MSAs 
  • Work with Contractors to improve safety performance, culture, and programs within local teams
  • Collaborate with local Fire Departments and DFW Airport Environmental teams for on-site evaluations and/or proactive emergency response exercises 
  • Perform behavior-based safety observations & pad site audits
  • Perform NORM surveys for pad sites and equipment 
  • Perform duties of a Qualified Individual for hot work, confined space entry, crane operations, and underground work for operation’s activities as needed. 
  • Maintain local chemical inventory for on-site and office SDSs
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct monthly safety meetings & contractor meetings bi-annually
  • Attend and present contractor meetings & offer HSE guidance to groups 
  • Participate in annual contractor meetings for entire Barnett contractor population
  • Inventory maintenance of personal protective equipment and field safety equipment for local personnel
  • Manage and contribute to applicable portions of the HSE budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Coordinate and contribute to drafting of HSE reference documents (policies, standards, plans, forms, directives, rules, specifications, and procedures.).
  • Travels to field locations to provide leadership and training, auditing, inspections and HSE development. 
  • Coordinate and technically contribute to HSE Committees
  • Supports staff during inquires and inspections by local, state, and federal agencies. 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Code of Conduct – Observe all federal, state, local laws, and regulations as well as the Company Code of Conduct, policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • The position is part of a fluid job, in a team:
    • Functionally reports to the Health & Safety Manager but works technically unsupervised.
    • Contributes to the implementation of an efficient HSE Management System (HSEMS).
    • Assures application, in compliance with regulations, reference documents and best practices, of the HSE policy in the activities (exploration, drilling, projects, production).
    • Provides HSE support for Production, Drilling and Well work activities. 
    • Coordinates development and implementation of various aspects of the HSE and Administrative management which contribute to the success of TEEP Barnett USA’s HSE goals and efforts.
    • Contributes to development and maintenance of Health, Safety and Regulatory programs and functions.
    • Supports the Vice President of HSE by complying with TEEP Barnett’s Company Rules and Specifications
