Job Summary

Description

The Gulf Coast Ammonia Project is a proposed blue ammonia facility in the Texas Coastal Bend Area. The project is currently in Pre-FEED with FEED expected to commence in December 2024 and first commercial production in early 2030.

The LCCE Engineering Manager will report to the Project Manager and will supervise eight or more discipline engineering staff supporting the project. The Engineering manager ensures the quality of the engineering design, that engineering activities of the Contractor are completed in compliance with the project requirements and per the project schedule.

The successful candidate is expected to relocate to Europe in early 2025.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

  • Aligning with all HSE requirements and being a visible leader in HSE
  • Recruiting and managing the discipline engineering staff supporting the project
  • Developing and enforcing project specifications and evaluating deviation requests
  • Handling the technical scope of work and control of design changes
  • Establishing and handling engineering-related procedures
  • Collaborating with other project functions to support the overall execution of the project
  • Establishing appropriate design philosophies and ensuring the technical integrity of the design by reviewing design contractor deliverables
  • Supporting the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) bidding processes through development of the scope of work and completion of the technical bid evaluation
  • Supporting operability, maintainability and reliability in design and ensuring completion of data for operations
  • Ensuring completion of loss prevention studies and the process safety of the facilities

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Currently hold or have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to obtain a passport
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or foreign equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering within the oil & gas or chemical industry
  • 7+ years of experience supervising discipline engineers
  • Previous major capital project experience in the oil & gas or chemical industry greater than USD 500 million
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to relocate internationally to the FEED and EPC Contractor’s offices in early 2025
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel domestically and internationally, 25% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

  • 12+ years of experience in engineering within the oil & gas or chemical industry
  • Prior experience in the execution of the engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of an ammonia facility
  • Experience with major capital project experience greater than USD 1 billion
  • Demonstrable verbal presentation and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and team leading skills and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what’s right
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
