As a Lead Database Adminstrator, you should have strong experience as a DBA, including hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle Administration, administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting on premise as well as Cloud.

As a Lead Database Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing database projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
  • Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management
  • Directing and coordinating the activities of the database team, including DBAs, developers, and analysts
  • Fostering a collaborative environment and ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members, promoting professional development and best practices
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and external vendors
  • Managing stakeholder expectations, provide regular updates, and address any issues or concerns promptly
  • Identifying and assessing project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle
  • Resolving conflicts and issues that may impact project success, ensuring timely and effective solutions
  • Ensuring that database solutions meet quality standards and align with organisational goals
  • Overseeing testing and validation processes to verify that deliverables meet project requirements and performance criteria
  • Managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting
  • Allocating resources efficiently, balancing project demands with team capacity and capabilities
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews
  • Generating and presenting project reports to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Evaluating project outcomes and processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Implementing best practices and lessons learned to enhance future project performance and team effectiveness

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Be a graduate in Computer Science, IT or similar or demonstrate equivalent professional work experience
  • Have minimum 10-12 years of experience in database domain
  • Have Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale database implementations and migration.
  • Have Strong understanding of database technologies (eg, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and related tools

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • 10-12 years of experience in database domain
  • Proven experience in leading and managing large-scale database implementations and migrations
  • Strong understanding of database technologies (eg, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and related tools
