We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Lead of Transportation and Installation (Survey) specialising in offshore compression. This is a contract role with initial duration of 36 months working on rotational basis with 28 days ON / 28 days OFF. Please see details below:
Title: Lead of Transportation and Installation (Survey)
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Offshore (Vessel/Barge)
Working Schedule: 12 hours per day with 28 days ON / 28 days OFF
Job Purpose:
- Reports directly to Head of Transportation and Installation (Shared resources) and Indirectly to VMT when at worksite
- Responsible as VMT for survey and positioning activities.
- Supervise and monitor the EPC contractor to ensure survey and positioning operations are conducted safely and appropriately in contractual agreement and industry best standards
- Review and approve EPC contractors survey procedures, reports, charts and survey related documentation.
- Provide survey and positioning technical support to the Shared Services Integrated T&I Organization & PMT
- Intensive engagement with EPC contractor’s installation team on survey procedure development, constructability and risk assessment.
- Conduct regular audit on contractor survey system compliance as per specification
- The personal may be assigned to project and as CSR onboard contractor marine unit as survey CSR
- This position is office based, however, personnel are required to travel to offshore and other worksite when requested by Shared resources & PMT
Position Accountabilities and Functions include:
- Works independently within established survey procedures, plans and budgets. Contributes to the development of these deliverables.
- Monitors Contractor’s technical survey performance and ensure specifications / approved procedures are followed.
- Assists Project Team with planning, procedure review and technical support of survey execution matters. Ensures that any issues evaluated during HAZID/HIRA processes, or that are raised during safety meetings, are closed prior to the start of work. Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost-effective service.
- Establishes credibility with peers, subordinates, and supervisors. Exhibits team leadership skills, integrity, self-confidence, fairness. Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.
- As when needed, to represent project team as COMPANY survey representative onboard offshore contruction vessels/ barges, jack-up barges and other onshore worksite for Major survey and positioning activities
- Participate, review and verify EPC contractors survey equipment mobilisation, testing and calibration result and documentation presented by contractor met the project requirements within the SOW.
- Verify operational status of any survey equipment, contractor vessel and survey personnel on a day to day basis utilised during EPC survey activities. Inclusive the field works performed.
- Participates in Contractor investigations of all incidents and root cause analyses related to survey and positioning activities
- Conducts survey equipment audits ensuring all relevant certification and audits are up to date and that any close-out actions from audits have been carried out.
- Reviews Contractors survey personnel qualifications and certification to ensure meeting project specification and requirement
- Stewards in the Management of Change process and is the Company Point of Contact on the worksite for all survey related site queries.
- Supervises the Contractors’ closeout reporting, charting and final document deliverable.
- Maintaining project as-install subsea assets register/log.
- Contribute to project lesson learnt program.
- Promote COMPANY safety and quality expectations
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. /M.Sc in Engineering, Hydrography, Geomatic, Geodesy or equivalent from a recognised University
- OPITO approved BOSIET and Medical for offshore assignment
Knowledge and/or Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in offshore survey construction activities in the Oil & Gas Industry, of which at least 10 years should have been as Offshore Survey Party Chief and 3 years as office based Project Surveyor for major EPC / T&I Project.
- Proven experience in the role for EPC / T&I Survey & Positioning projects (pre-engineering, pre-construction, Installation and as-built survey, QA/QC of survey datas)
- Knowledge in installation survey activities for shore approach, pipelay, cable and umbilical lay, subsea metrology, offshore and subsea structures installation
- Experienced in implementation of industry best practices and Company’s systems, processes, and standards
- Familiar with latest survey industry technology and methodology
Technical and Business Skills:
- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
- Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
- Ability to work on or be based on a platform or vessel
