Job description
On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are seeking an experienced Lead Piping Engineer to work on a large-scale onshore oil and gas development project. This role will focus on managing the piping discipline throughout the FEED phase and subsequent EPC contract preparations, ensuring designs meet technical, safety, and quality standards.
The position will be on a 12 month renewable contract, based residentially in either Paris or London, paying a day rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop equipment and piping layouts and general arrangements in compliance with project specifications, materials, codes, and standards.
- Oversee the creation and approval of piping deliverables, including 3D models, stress analysis, and engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate piping layouts into the overall design.
- Conduct constructability reviews and 3D model evaluations, considering layout restrictions, safety, and maintainability.
- Ensure that deliverables are on schedule, within budget, and of the highest quality.
- Review piping stress analysis and critical line identification.
- Perform technical reviews, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for piping systems and layouts.
- Stay informed of and ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide input into cost estimates and proposals related to piping materials and systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Relevant qualification in piping or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in piping engineering, with substantial experience in oil and gas onshore plant projects.
- Languages: Fluent in English.
- Strong expertise in risk identification, control, and management within the scope of piping engineering.
- Previous experience working for an Oil & Gas operator
- Right to work in the UK/EU
