Location:  West, Texas (Must live in Odessa, TX or be willing to relocate)

 

Summary:

Directs implementation and management of HSE management system (MS), processes, policies, and tools for assigned rigs; Drives ownership, responsibility, and accountability for HSE; Communicates effectively to drive consistent implementation and compliance to the HSE MS, trend, and measure the HSE leading and lagging indicators for the daily management of the rigs; Manages and supports HSE to continuously drive Safety Performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSE leadership, support, and coaching for assigned rigs and shops; Provide HSE program direction to all personnel, identifying and addressing the gaps through HSE assessments, inspections, and field visits ensuring that corrective actions are effective
  • Proficient in Regulatory and industry best practices; Work closely with industry associations, government regulators, and customers; Ensures compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal regulations
  • Coaches, demonstrates , and leads Key Beliefs, Life-Saving Actions, HSE MS policies, procedures, and tools
  • Continuous assessment and communication of HSE data and KPIs to monitor leading and lagging indicators
  • Ensures that all required regulatory and customer reporting is completed accurately, approved, and submitted promptly
  • Responsible for incident investigation process ensuring that root cause has been identified and corrective actions are adequate to address issues
  • Leads and manages assigned HSE Superintendents through daily direction and guidance ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and timely.
  • Partners with Claims Management to ensure that restricted and lost time cases are managed effectively
  • Assist in the implementation of location-specific emergency response systems, policies, and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations
  • Assists in drafting HSE Communications, policies, procedures, and guidelines; stays current on regulatory and customer developments; develops site-specific HSE Plans or HSE Bridging Documents when required
  • Attends and represents Precision HSE Department at scheduled customer meetings
  • Assists in communications with representatives of regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues and provide requested information
  • Provide support and guidance regarding on-call duties; travel +30% of time
  • Verify HSE training and assist in developing and/or reviewing HSE Training
  • Provide periodic updates to Field Training and Development regarding changes in Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations or any other requirements that may affect rig-based employee training requirements

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of relevant oilfield experience with a proven excellent safety record
  • 5 years of experience in a heavy industry/construction environment (drilling rig experience preferred) with a proven excellent safety record
  • HSE credentials and/or certifications preferred
  • Working knowledge of HSE Management Systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Regulatory Requirements
  • Experience in Hazard Assessment and Incident Investigation
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle including the ability to meet requirements of the Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy

 

Education:

  • BS/BA degree preferred in Safety related program
