Job Duties and Qualifications

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse management and control functions for the area of supervision. The supervisor manages staff and day-to-day operations, coordinates training for staff and employees, and makes sure that all shipping / receiving and cycle count processes are accurate and optimized.   
 

Tasks And Responsibilities 

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, physical inventory verification, and operational efficiency 
  • Directly responsible for warehouse management HSE programs, promotes safe working environment, and ensures reporting procedures for incidents are followed  
  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse employees, including scheduling, training, and performance management 
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve warehouse efficiency and accuracy, including CI (continuous improvement) initiatives, inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving 
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. 
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders 
  • Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements 

 

Profile and Experience

  • Undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree in business administration, materials management, industrial distribution, engineering, or similar discipline required 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse management leadership role with a proven track record of success 
  • Knowledge of the financial impact of inventory, warehouse inventory and cycle counting analysis, warehouse organization, and counting frequency is required 
  • Ability to speak and write English is required 
  • The ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Experience utilizing an ERP & warehousing system is required, SAP knowledge is preferred 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively 
  • Strong customer service and continuous improvement mindset
