About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Materials Coordinator to join Santos’ Team.

Reporting to the Team Leader Materials Management PNG, this role is responsible for providing material supply support to the Maintenance Campaigns Team, Maintenance Shared Services, CPF Asset, APF Asset, Gobe Asset, Hides Asset and KMT. These are referred to as Customer teams. The position will also be responsible for liaison with these customer teams and the warehousing for all materials requirements matters.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide update to the maintenance department planners and schedulers on the status of the materials delivery and shortfalls and update the MRO report.
  • Ensure that required materials for the approved weekly work order schedules are available and liaise with warehouse for picking and shipping to locations.
  • Coordinate the flow of materials and lead bagging and tagging processes in preparation for shut down and other major events as required.
  • Assist with raising reservations and expense PR only for asset requirements under cost centres with approval from OSM, MTL and PTL. 
  • Assign priority and select mode of transport for each order based on customer criticality and required on site date. 
  • Effectively track materials through to delivery and liaise with Logistics and expeditors to ensure materials are expedited in an efficient manner.
  • Make recommendations on the items that needs to be stocked as per the customer requirements and action in accordance with new material request.
  • Assist in preparation of documentation and procedures necessary for the effective management of materials management and logistics processes for stock transfers.
  • Work with Inventory team to ensure correct safety stock is maintained and that purchase requisitions are released to meet work order commitments. 
  • Work with purchasing team to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Carry out ad-hoc inventory counts, and physical checks as required by Inventory team or customer teams.
  • Support supply chain initiatives focused on the minimization of working capital, obsolescence, and supply chain costs and continuous improvements.
  • Manage the Self-Service Stores of consumables at APF and CPF facilities accordingly.

About you

Possessing a Trade / Tertiary qualification, or relevant experience (Business, Logistics and Materials Management), and ideally a Certificate/Diploma of Logistics, along with membership status of CIPS or equivalent, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience in a Supply Chain Role (Scheduling, Planning, Contracts, Purchasing, Logistics)
  • Working collaboratively and communication with many stakeholders
  • Materials management and Cataloguing
  • Logistics and Distribution
  • Warehousing Controls and management 

Any knowledge of the following will be looked upon favourably:

  • SAP or other ERP Supply Chain Management
  • Analytical & data management skills and reporting 
  • Purchasing to pay platforms (Coupa, Ariba)
