Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)
Location: London
Duration: 6 Months (Renewable)

Seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer for a Pre-FEED project in the shipbuilding industry. This role involves designing efficient HVAC solutions for shipyard environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specific project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform feasibility studies and initial design assessments for HVAC systems in shipbuilding projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and timelines.
  • Develop layouts, specifications, and calculations to meet regulatory and project standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate and select HVAC equipment suitable for marine applications.
  • Identify design challenges and propose solutions to enhance system performance.
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to meet project milestones.
  • Provide regular project updates and address technical questions in meetings.
  • Support the transition from Pre-FEED to detailed design to ensure continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • Years of experience in HVAC design, ideally in marine or shipbuilding sectors.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit, HAP) and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of marine HVAC standards (ABS, DNV GL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • HVAC design certification (e.g., ASHRAE) is a plus.
