Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer for a Pre-FEED project in the shipbuilding industry. This role involves designing efficient HVAC solutions for shipyard environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specific project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform feasibility studies and initial design assessments for HVAC systems in shipbuilding projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and timelines.
- Develop layouts, specifications, and calculations to meet regulatory and project standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
- Evaluate and select HVAC equipment suitable for marine applications.
- Identify design challenges and propose solutions to enhance system performance.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to meet project milestones.
- Provide regular project updates and address technical questions in meetings.
- Support the transition from Pre-FEED to detailed design to ensure continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
- Years of experience in HVAC design, ideally in marine or shipbuilding sectors.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit, HAP) and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of marine HVAC standards (ABS, DNV GL).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- HVAC design certification (e.g., ASHRAE) is a plus.
