Job Description:
As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in equipment and systems, you will play a crucial role in the development, installation, and maintenance of various machinery, including Midrex equipment, water systems, and briquetting machines. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of project-related tasks to ensure the successful implementation and operation of these systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop Scope of Work (SOW) and Specifications: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and develop detailed SOW and specifications for the procurement, installation, and operation of equipment and systems.
2. Review Proposals and Engineering Designs: Evaluate proposals from vendors and contractors, reviewing engineering designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulations.
3. Collaborate with Project Manager and Stakeholders: Work closely with the project manager and stakeholders to provide technical expertise, support project planning and scheduling, and address any engineering-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
4. Support Construction and Commissioning: Provide technical support during the construction phase, coordinating with contractors and overseeing the installation and commissioning of equipment and systems to ensure they meet performance expectations and safety standards.
5. Adhere to Project Management Methodology: Follow the Construction Industry Project Management (CIPM) methodology to manage project activities, track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
6. Document Management in SAP: Utilize SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) software to upload and review Bills of Materials (BOM), preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, operation manuals, and engineering drawings, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for equipment and systems.
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
* 5-10+ years of experience preferably in manufacturing
* Experience with water systems, reduction equipment and other processing equipment
* Experience with Midrex would be desirable
