Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Specialist with a background in processing plant engineering maintenance on sag mills and related equipment, to join their team on site in West Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing mechanical engineering maintenance activities within the processing plant and related facilities.
- Ensure that the team has obtained relevant paperwork and permits for work to be carried out.
- Task allocation and overseeing maintenance carried out by the team.
- Inspections on plant equipment and other areas as required.
- Reporting any breakdowns, potential equipment failures and incidents timeously.
- Creating work orders for planning for required maintenance to be carried out.
- Ensuring good housekeeping within the team.
- Carrying out quality control and assurance of all mechanical tasks performed.
- Training and mentoring of team members.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Higher National Diploma from an accredited institution.
- 10 years previous experience in mechanical maintenance within mining processing plants, with 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Previous experience in sag mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, gravity and magnetic separation.
- Computer literate.
- Proven ability to mentor, train, coach and guide junior and unskilled team members.
- Strong focus on health and safety standards and compliance.
