OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Under guidance from Senior Mooring Engineer or Lead Mooring Engineer as appropriate, the Mooring Engineer Level I provides engineering skills to projects, tendering activities, engineering studies, vessels & equipment and/or offshore engineering processes required to install offshore Mooring Systems for both Oil & Gas and Floating Wind Structures. Compliance with and delivery against project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations is required. The Engineer will usually work as part of a team and may also be required to provide information and engineering guidance to other functions within the business.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Provides limited skills, integrity and knowledge in areas of mooring engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice. Aware of clients’ needs; addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
- Under direct supervision, the successful candidate would be involved in the engineering activities related to the preparation and offshore installation of anchor piles and mooring systems, including tow and hook-up of Host facility/Floating Wind Structures.
- Under guidance, the candidate would be involved with production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
- Originates technical documentation, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy.
- Aware of all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements.
- Involved with meetings/correspondence with Clients, subcontractors, 3rd parties, etc. in a technical capacity.
- Assists more junior engineers/graduates as appropriate.
- Requirement for some local and international travel (up to 25%).
- Offshore/Off-site location (within and outside the US) during project execution phases as required (up to 25%).
- Ability to pass a UKOOA physical and BOSIET training

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
- Professional qualifications – Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or any Engineering Degree with demonstrable experience in a similar role will also be considered
- Awareness of marine classification and local legislation (Essential)
- Demonstrable ability to work within time/budget constraints
- Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
- Demonstrable ability to prioritize and organize work
- Ability to support package engineering and management
- Majority of the work would be carried out of Subsea 7’s Houston office.
