Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Offshore Construction Engineer, based offshore on a 2/3 rotation.

Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities to include:
* Manage and control the activities of the Construction and Fabric Maintenance Teams in a cost effective and efficient manner.
* Ensure that all relevant activities are carried out safely and in accordance with Statutory Regulations, the company’s Safety Management System and procedures.
* Support the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that safety critical system maintenance is executed in a manner that secures fitness for purpose.
* Co-ordinate the planning and implementation of major project workscopes i.e. those that fall out with planned facilities scopes.
* Provide input on platform equipment and systems to ensure that the required performance is maintained or enhanced in order to secure the safety and/or commercial objectives of the asset.
* Contribute to maintaining safe working environment by undertaking audits.
* Provide positive leadership encouraging teams and team members to be a part of, and to contribute to the objectives of the organisation.
* Liaison with external bodies, vendors, contractors and specialists either directly or as a result of activities supervised by sub-contractors.
* Assist the company’s other support functions to ensure that operations actions are completed in a timely manner.
* Liaison with persons involved with the verification as to the fitness of purpose of the installation
* Fully integrated member of the shutdown offshore management team, including facilitating the Shutdown Platform Inductions.
* Management and control of all shutdown related Facilities, Integrity and Maintenance activities that require the services of the incumbent engineering/construction and fabric maintenance contractors.
* Management and control of all specialist third party vendors supporting the above activities.
* Co-ordination of the Vessel cleaning, inspections and associated remedial workscopes.
* Responsible for ensuring that all workpacks, materials and personnel are available to satisfy the shutdown plan.
* Involved in the preparation of any relevant ISSOW permitry (including participation in level 2 Risk Assessment) and supporting documentation (marked-up P&ID’s, etc.) in advance of and during the shutdown period.
* Responsible for Daily Reporting, Planning updates, attending Meetings and Conference Calls between platform and office.
* Liaison with external bodies such as Lloyds, in relation to verification, witness testing and commissioning of associated activities.
* Responsible for ensuring that all as-built/close-out activities have been completed in a timely manner.
* Responsible for recognising the significance of an emerging situation through sight, sound, smell and – if necessary – stopping the job.
* Understand and manage specific MAH and PSM risks on the asset.
* Ensure the safety critical systems required to minimise MAH and PSM risks are maintained and are in good working order.
* Recognise those certain types of equipment that can give rise to LOC events (valves, small-bore tubing, bolted flanges etc.) and ensure they are monitored in line with relevant procedures.
* Maintain own knowledge of PSM requirements and parts of the SHEMS that apply to area of responsibility.
* Ensure all personnel under area of responsibility have sufficient knowledge of MAH and PSM risks to safely carry out their duties.
