We have a current opportunity for a Onshore Export Cable Engineer on a contract basis with a leading UK offshore wind project. The main office location will be London, however project sites are located across north Wales and Lancashire.

Responsibilities:
You will be part of the interdisciplinary sub-project “Onshore Export Cable”
* You will effectively collaborate on Civils and cable installation on onshore cable routes from the Landfall to the point of connection at NG substations.
* You will report to the Lead Civil Engineer and support him within the following scope and functions.
* You will help manage internal and external studies and consultancies for specific engineering scopes.
* You will be required to support and help and actively participate in the preparation of technical specifications for the civils and duct installation as well as the supply and installation, jointing, terminating and testing of onshore export cables.
* You will be required to have an understanding of the preparation, negotiation and award of contracts and examination and evaluation of offered technical solutions.
* You are to support the Lead Civil Engineer in design, FEED and the construction and consenting processes, (This also includes reviews of documents and the delivered technical solutions for compliance with specified requirements)
* You will help manage the internal interfaces to the survey team, and onshore export cable package.
* On top of that, you will play a key role in helping to strengthen interfaces to other work packages.
* Once the works commence on site, then this role will transition into an Onshore Engineer Site Representative role, reporting to the Lead Civil Engineer on a daily basis.
Education / Training:
* You have a degree or a comparable qualification in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering
* Alternatively, you have a technical/ skilled worker formation plus extensive professional experience in the respective field.
Experience & Job Requirements:
* You have a very good demonstrable knowledge of civils works associated with the installation of long linear onshore cable routes including trenchless crossing techniques, 3rd party asset crossings, including Network Rail assets, land and consents interfaces, jointing & terminating of HV cables commissioning and HV testing. A sound knowledge of CDM 2015 and current H&S Legislation is required and at least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
* You are motivated, dedicated and ready to embrace new challenges and take initiative and ownership.
* Furthermore, experience in participating contract negotiations and in contract management of large infrastructure investment projects is desirable
* You demonstrate willingness to familiarize yourself with new tasks at a short notice
* You are willing to travel within the scope of project requirements
* And of course, you are a strong team player with good communication and persuasion skills, who enjoys working within intercultural teams
