Our Client is a reputable building services contractor undertaking a range of electrical and plumbing installation projects on large projects including hotels and commercial offices.
An Operations Manager is now required to oversee all aspects of project management from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans
- Brief and coordinate with Technical Supervisors
- Allocate resources and materials efficiently
- Ensure compliance with bid specifications and industry standards
- Project Monitoring and Control
- Oversee daily project progress
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and potential issues
- Maintain regular communication with supervisors and clients
- Resource Management
- Track and procure necessary resources and materials
- Liaise with internal departments (purchasing, finance, design) and external stakeholders
- Foster positive working relationships across the organization
- Operational Excellence
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to meet and exceed customer needs
- Manage, coach, and support direct reports and their teams
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project plans and financial reports
- Track project alterations, complications, and solutions
- Prepare and present progress reports as required
- Quality Assurance
- Oversee commissioning runs and certification activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Formal project management qualification (or in progress)
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practices
- Proven experience in people and performance management
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in verbal and written English; Maltese language skills preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite
The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on background in mechanical and electrical installations, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage complex projects and diverse teams.
