Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and talented Paralegal who has keen interest in upstream oil and gas works to join the legal team in the Malaysia Business Unit (MBU).

If you are selected as the MBU Paralegal, you will work closely together with the Managing Counsel in providing legal and compliance advice and support to the MBU.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing advice and support on all legal and compliance matters that are being handled and managed by the MBU Legal Team
  • Drafting and reviewing legal agreements and documentation involving current operations and regulatory compliance
  • Conducting legal research
  • Managing outside legal services, on various claims/ litigation and regulatory issues that may affect the Company
  • Organizing and maintaining filing for the MBU Legal Team in a timely and systematic manner
  • Organizing legal trainings

Basic/ Required:

  • A law degree from a reputable university
  • At least 3 years working experience in a legal firm or corporate environment
  • Good understanding of contract laws and compliance requirements
  • Strong business ethics
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Good written and oral communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a team environment
  • Strong initiative and organizational skills

HSE Roles

  • Comply with HSE policies, Life Saving Rules, procedures, goals and programs within the MBU HSE Management System
  • Actively engage in and contribute to HSE communication and consultation processes
  • Actively participate in HSE initiatives and programs that include but not limited to, Safety Observations and HSE Trainings
  • Support company sustainability development (SD) initiatives and other environmental policies and practices
