Overview
Saudi Aramco are seeking senior Engineers for their Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC). We are looking for professionals to conduct upstream research in the Advanced Well Systems Focus Area in the Production Technology Division. The position offers the opportunity to contribute in leading edge technology development to increase recovery, improve operational efficiency and reduce cost.
This technical role will be responsible for introducing breakthrough technologies focused on the metallurgy of the well by identifying company needs, material compatibility requirements, designing innovative solutions, managing Well completion and production product development collaborations, field trialing new products and commercializing the technology in Saudi Aramco. Additional responsibilities include managing the Advanced Well Systems lab and working with other Subject matter Experts in EXPEC ARC.
Key Responsibilities
You are expected to be able to perform the following:
- Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to identify optimal well material selection and current challenges to complete and intervene in harsh downhole environments and provide solutions to fill the gaps.
- Initiate technology development proposals.
- Design experimental and modeling studies to evaluate performance of certain materials in different downhole conditions.
- Run finite-element analysis and computational fluid dynamics on completion items.
- Perform business case analysis for the need to develop new products.
- Perform failure mode and effects analysis, fault tree analysis and tool reliability studies related to well materials.
- Install and trial test new technologies in the field and implement full-scale deployment of high-impact technologies.
- Write and publish technical papers and patent applications.
- Prepare and present technical talks to highly technical audience.
- Participate in technical societies and groups.
Minimum Requirements
As a successful candidate, you must
- Hold a master degree in Petroleum Engineering, materials engineering/mechanical engineering or related discipline. PhD degree is a plus.
- Have a minimum of 10 years related experience with demonstrated skills in electro-mechanical design and R&D of completions or downhole equipment.
- Possess working knowledge of downhole well metallurgy requirements and operating envelopes, chemical and mechanical properties of different materials.
- Be aware of well intervention methods, advanced completions packaging and product testing and qualification.
- Have other skills such as 3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, reliability, nodal analysis, functional completion design, and intellectual property.
- Have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with professionals from other disciplines at all levels.
- Have a history of technical publications and patents.
- Familiar with lab methods and techniques, demonstrated skills in lab testing and characterization.
Familiar with industry standards such as API and AWES . Prior participation in governing industry
