About Houston
ExxonMobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.
By bringing many global functional groups together, the campus provides employees with the tools and capabilities needed today, and in the future, to achieve business objectives and accelerate the discovery of new resources, technologies and products. What role you will play in our team
The Public & Government Affairs (P&GA) Advisor, Non-Permian, is responsible for the ongoing development and effective application of P&GA programs to advance business objectives in the Non-Permian operating areas (Bakken, Appalachia, East Texas, Southern Oklahoma). This includes the management of community relations, local city and county government affairs in coordination with the State Government Relations team, media relations in coordination with the Corporate Media team, internal/external communications and community investment programs.

What you will do
- Develop and execute a strategic external affairs plan, providing high level strategic public affairs and community engagement advice, counsel and support to senior management in operations
- Manage quickly changing priorities and/or external events that could impact business goals
- Develop political and public analysis to support execution of business objectives
- Ensure integrated communication and advocacy plans are developed and implemented to further business objectives
- Develop relationships with key officials, local leaders, and community organizations
- Draft key messages and correspondence to local leaders and community organizations
- Manage ongoing development and effective application of community relations programs in the Non-Permian operations areas
- Assist State Government Relations with governmental inquiries
- Conduct extensive cross-functional engagement within ExxonMobil P&GA, including state & federal government relations, communications, media, advertising and operations
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Government, Advocacy, community engagement or industry experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in energy and/or public relations preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Varied public policy experience including, for example, in a government setting, corporation, trade or business association or think tank
- B.S. in public policy, international relations, communications, public or government relations, or similar
- Proficient communicator (both verbal and written) with the ability to understand and communicate complex issues; project management experience; experience engaging with elected officials and/or the general public on policy issues; solid understanding of communication, advocacy and community engagement tools and efforts
- Detail the KSA’s required for the position: ability to accuratey develop and execute a strategic program and contributions budget; ability to travel routinely to ND, PA, OK, WV, LA and east TX; proficient with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT)
