Job Title: Piping Engineer

Location: Madrid, Spain

Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract

 

 

 

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Piping Engineer to join our team in Madrid. The successful candidate will review design drawings and documents, analyze material and equipment specifications, and address deviations. The role requires resolving piping-related engineering issues using established principles, codes, and standards. A thorough knowledge of engineering practices, line designation, economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes & standards, procedures, and specifications is essential.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review and understand blueprints of designs prepared by planners and supervise installation works.
  • Plan and prepare schedules for completing work within deadlines.
  • Ensure the efficiency and integrity of the piping system.
  • Ensure that the job progresses as per schedule.
  • Meet with architects and planners to discuss plans and clarify installation processes.
  • Implement and enforce safety measures at the workplace.
  • Prepare estimates for the piping work.
  • Document various stages of project development.
  • Monitor contractor design, procurement, and construction to ensure selection and timely delivery of optimal technical/economical solutions for M&P systems.
  • Ensure overall design integrity and compliance with international standards, company specifications, and engineering best practices.
  • Advise on overseeing the detailed design of EPCC contractor to meet project milestones.
  • Participate in engineering reviews with coordination of field input.
  • Review/audit schedules, supporting procedures, and progress certificates.
  • Participate in HAZOP studies.
  • Participate in construction risk assessment reviews and constructability workshops.
  • Review field engineering-related procedures.
  • Coordinate 3D model reviews and TAG resolution.
  • Participate in interface reviews.
  • Provide engineering input for early construction scope with the development of appropriate contract input to support execution.
  • Review scope, MTO, and pay items for change orders. Respond to technical queries.

 

 

 

Requirements:

Educational & Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Experience in engineering roles associated with Oil & Gas projects from FEED to completion
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal
  • Possess both design and field implementation experience
