Our Baton Rouge complex is known for more than its size. In 2016, three of the six manufacturing plants that received Distinguished Safety Awards by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers association were located at the Baton Rouge complex.

What role you will play in our team

Base maintenance support at the Baton Rouge Polyolefins Plant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Job includes troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls of machinery and fixed equipment.
 

What you will do

• Ensure safe and reliable operations of mechanical devices by completing preventative maintenance and repairs of plant machinery and equipment.
• Assume Permit Acceptor responsibilities.
• Replace defective parts by using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
• Determine root cause of malfunction by observing devices in operations and using precision tools for performance measurement, including calipers, rules, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
• Interface with Process Operators for coordination associated with routine maintenance activities.
• Utilize maintenance resources by using equipment and materials in an efficient as-needed manner.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following site procedures and policies.
• Willing and able to perform work at elevations of 50ft or more above grade.
   

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience (and/or educational equivalent) related to the specified primary job functions as a millwright or combination welder. 
• Ability to recognize and mitigate potential safety hazards for all employees
• Available to work after hours repairs, including occasional shiftwork during extending plant downtimes 
• Computer competency

Preferred Qualifications 

• Operation and Mechanical knowledge of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, and gearboxes
• Machinery alignment skills
• Aluminum TIG welding certification
• Experience working with shop and mobile equipment, including cranes, forklifts, manlifts, hoists, band saws, lathes, and mills
• Experience and knowledge of welding
• Understand the principles of Lock Out/Tag Out
• Prior experience with Crane rigging
• Prior experience with Pipefitting
