The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, inform and implement policy and regulatory work with a focus on natural gas in Spain, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Greece and potentially other Eastern-European countries.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of policies and regulations to ensure business compliance.
  • Communicate issues to the business and promote commercial opportunities based on regulatory insights.
  • Monitor, shape and influence future policies and regulations in line with Equinor business strategies.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop strategies and maintain external stakeholder engagement for Natural Gas. 
  • Represent the company, its business interests and policy positions in selected external associations and networks.
  • Drive co-creation of analysis across analytical units in Equinor, aiming to predict holistic market and policy forecast, including driving business impact analysis of proposed policies and regulations.
  • Interact daily with commercial leaders, traders, marketers and originators to advise on policy and regulations trends, their effect on market design, opportunities, and risks for natural gas.
  • Provide Equinor views on the policy and regulatory issues and potential regulatory developments affecting the energy and industrial landscape.

  • 5-10 years of hands-on knowledge of natural gas regulations, including network codes, capacity mechanisms, transportation/transmission/distribution network functioning, etc.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience of the energy related regulatory and policy landscape across Europe as well as experience with European and domestic policies and institutional processes are advantages.
  • Professional competence in written and verbal English, as well as fluency in at least one other European language.
  • An interest in European energy markets, the energy transition and the region’s decarbonisation ambitions.
  • An established external network in the European natural gas sector, its regulators and relevant industry associations is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, business studies, economics, political science or another relevant subject.
